Brian M. Kelley, PhD
Dr. Kelley is an award-winning (e.g., best teaching award, scholar of the year award, and researcher of the year from different medical societies) and widely-published scientist and public health expert who supported his own research career through a variety of institutional, regional, and national grants. Dr. Kelley has worked in academia for over two decades as well as worked with a variety of not-for-profit organizations and medical centers to help create innovation and secure foundation, city, state, and federal funds to support biomedical (basic and applied), education (technology and pedagogy), prevention research (substance abuse, STD/HIV-AIDS, and mental illness), and workforce development (technology, healthcare, and rural), and he has served as a grant reviewer for several granting agencies.
Not only is Dr. Kelley proficient in program development, implementation, and evaluation, but he has many years of experience as a methodologist and statistician. Dr. Kelley has done extensive work in the areas of substance abuse, from translation research to clinical trials to large prevention efforts, but he has also worked in many areas in health care innovation and community improvement efforts. Dr. Kelley currently serves as a reviewer for several prestigious medical journals including Life Sciences, Journal of Developmental Psychobiology, Biological Psychiatry, Journal of Neuroscience Methods, and Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Behavior, and he served on the editorial board of Neurotoxicology and Teratology for 10 years. His broad background, spanning areas from molecular biology to clinical trials to community-wide prevention programs, has provided him with many unique opportunities to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals.
